The Economist is known for its printed insight and opinion on international news, politics, business, finance, science and technology. Now, the publication is unveiling a new original series, Economist Films, which offers a global perspective and access to world leaders and experts. These films will maintain the publication’s journalistic heritage with its commitment to making visually inspiring and carefully crafted video.
DePalma Productions was selected to work on a promotional video announcing Economist Films.
The promotion was created using footage of individual interviews as well as a panel discussion about the various films they showed. Panelists included Nicky Minter Green (President, Economist Films), Zanny Minton Beddoes (Editor-in-Chief, The Economist), Chris Stibbs (CEO, The Economist Group), and the panel moderator Paul Rossi (President, The Economist’s Group Media Businesses).
DePalma Productions shot the footage with the Canon C300 along with the L-Series 70-200 lens. Our team also used a battery-powered LED panel so we could quickly remove the equipment once shooting was completed.
Economist Films will release two new series later this year.
