Calvary Hospital Hosts Ribbon Cutting For Kosher Hospitality Room

On Tuesday, December 3, 2013, in an effort to expand programs and services to meet the diverse needs of patients and their families, Calvary Hospital hosted a ribbon cutting for their Kosher Hospitality Room and Shabbos Lounge. Yeshiva University and Calvary have collaborated since 2012 to bring information and the best end-of-life care to the observant Jewish community. Calvary wanted to be able to accommodate as many people as possible, while prioritizing the comfort and care of their patients. Therefore, while the ribbon-cutting event was taking place in the Kosher Hospitality Room, the attendees gathered in a larger banquet area on another floor to watch the ceremony.

The challenge was to feed the event live to a room three floors down, and on the opposite side of the building.

Our solution was to have our team stream the event using a webcaster.  The video “broadcasted” from the Kosher Hospitality Room, over the internet, to the banquet room.  The ceremony was then projected live and seen by all.

Mr. Frank A. Calamari, President and CEO of Calvary Hospital, presided as master of ceremonies for the event and discussed Calvary’s partnership with Chesed 24/7, an organization which keeps the Hospital well-stocked with delicious kosher meals. DePalma Productions is proud to support Calvary Hospital with many of their video production needs as they continue their long run as New York’s top hospital for palliative care.
