The Midsummer Classic took place on July 16 at the monumental Yankee Stadium. An event of this caliber was guaranteed to be a landmark in baseball history. With camera coverage on first and third base DePalma Productions covered all the exciting moments from the best of the best in the major leagues to the celebrities such as Sheryl Crow, Alyssa Milano, and Lorraine Bracco that came out for this memorable day. For the Celebrity softball game we got the chance to see some of the famous faces we usually see gracing red carpets, running bases, such as Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Rock, and of course the New York Yankee’s biggest fan, comedian Billy Chrystal. The All Star game has been hailed as being the perfect way bid farewell to the old Yankee Stadium and we had the honor and privilege to be among the greatness capturing history as it unraveled. This was not the first time we have had the unique opportunity to work with Yankee superstars, DePalma Productions has also worked off the field with Jorge Posada on the set of Extreme Home makeover. We look forward to having the chance to work with the men in pinstripes once again in the near future.
Jamie Lee Curtis Interview
In Spring 2008, DePalma Productions worked with client, Marx Creative, on a personal interview with actress Jamie Lee Curtis. The interview, produced by Sara Welch, focused on Jamie Lee Curtis’ new mission, redefining beauty. Using her celebrity status Jamie Lee is encouraging women to improve their overall health and image by nurturing their digestive system. Reaching the milestone of fifty this year, Jamie Lee is showing the women of the baby boom generation that they can challenge the Hollywood mold of attractiveness. Of course, her recent appearance in the TV Spot for Activia Yogurt was a topic of discussion. Although this subject matter is a frequent taboo in society, Jamie Lee is not afraid to be a voice in this campaign, simply showing women it’s ok to be who you are. The interview will appear on the television program “Health Corner,” hosted by Leeza Gibbons. It was a great opportunity to provide the technical services so that Jamie Lee Curtis can continue to tell mature women everywhere to make it their mission to “age wisely and well.”
TV Guide Ruby Dee
Recently the DePalma Productions crew serviced a frequent client, the TV Guide Channel, in interviewing the renowned actress Ruby Dee. DePalma Productions provided a comfortable shooting environment for the legendary star, so TV Guide could focus on the interview and hearing the latest news about the upcoming award shows, including the honoring of Ms. Ruby Dee by the Screen Actors Guild.
